Champion Sports Medicine/Kevin Wilk Fellowship Program
Overview
This six-month fellowship program is designed to refine the skills of physical therapists specializing in orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Under the direct mentorship of one of the leaders in sports medicine, Kevin Wilk, fellows will gain invaluable hands-on experience through independent clinical hours at Champion Sports Medicine. The program offers exposure to a variety of professional settings, including the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) Biomechanics Lab and numerous high school and collegiate training rooms.
Mission
To develop physical therapists into highly skilled clinical specialists with extensive knowledge of biomechanics, pathomechanics, surgery and the development and administration of well-structured rehabilitation programs.
Comprehensive curriculum
- One-on-one mentorship: Direct guidance from Kevin Wilk.
- Clinical experience: Hands-on patient care in a variety of settings.
- Research opportunities: Involvement in research projects such as the ASMI Biomechanics Lab.
- Education: Participation in weekly grand rounds and opportunities to present lectures.
- Surgical observation: Witnessing surgeries performed by world-renowned orthopedic surgeons.
- Biomechanical studies: Observation of biomechanical research and analysis.
