Therapy
Therapy opportunities across our continuum of care
Therapy plays an integral role in each of our care settings. Our patients range from elite athletes in our outpatient centers, to people requiring ventilators in our critical illness recovery hospitals or those recovering from a traumatic injury at our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. We offer a wide range of opportunities, including speech-language pathology, physical, occupational, respiratory and recreational therapy.
Technology for recovery
As a leader in rehabilitation, Select Medical has utilized rehabilitation technologies for several years. Through an Advanced Technology Committee, Select Medical continuously scouts for and evaluates new rehabilitation technologies that yield solid, evidence-based outcomes. Currently, all of our inpatient rehabilitation hospital therapy gyms nationwide include advanced robotics equipment.
Join our team at Select Medical as an occupational therapist and help patients return to activities they love. You'll evaluate patients, design treatment plans, educate patients on their condition and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
If you are specifically interested in hand therapy, Select Medical is the largest employer of hand therapists nationwide. We offer exciting opportunities for certified hand and experienced upper extremity therapists. Join us and help patients regain their hand function and quality of life.
As a speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Select Medical, you will make a profound impact on patients’ lives. Across our continuum of care, SLPs focus on restoring patients’ key functions to eat and talk again following serious injury or illness.
While critically ill patients receive the assistance of a tracheostomy tube for breathing, you may work to get them speaking with a special valve. Once they are freed from the ventilator and tracheostomy tube, you will begin to get their swallowing muscles back in shape for independent eating and talking. Patients then transfer to an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. There, SPLs evaluate patients’ swallowing muscles, conducting assessments like modified barium swallow studies or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations to customize treatment plans. Finally, in outpatient therapy, SLPs continue refining the work of prior therapies, fine tuning the recovery of a patient’s eating and talking capabilities and getting them back to their lives.
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of children with our pediatric therapy services. We offer both inpatient and outpatient care with the goal of improving physical function and fostering emotional well-being throughout a child’s recovery.
