About Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital

A partnership between Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Select Medical, our 76-bed medical rehabilitation hospital serves adult and pediatric patients in central Pennsylvania. Led by a physiatrist – a physician board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation – our team includes rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational and speech-language therapists; dietitians; case managers and other clinical and support staff. Together, as part of a national network of approximately 30 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, we leverage best practices to help patients recover the strength, skills and functional ability to return home and rebuild their lives.

Billy's story
Billy Blatt enjoyed working in excavation and serving his community as a volunteer firefighter. The 20-year-old was also a fan of dirt bike racing, but a terrible training accident put him on an unexpected path. Airlifted to Hershey Medical Center, he was treated for a traumatic brain injury, internal injuries, a compression fracture in his spine and multiple facial fractures.
