Part Time - PRN - Per Diem Inpatient Acute Care

CARROLL HOSPITAL - Westminster Maryland

NovaCare / LifeBridge Health in Westminster MD is the inpatient rehabilitation provider for Carroll Hospital. This is a 153 bed inpatient hospital seeking local part time, PRN or per diem physical therapists (PT) to join our team. We are unable to consider new graduates for part time, but we CAN consider new graduates for FULL time. We have a large clinical team in need of coverage for vacation, sick or emergencies. Part time is defined as a steady schedule, less than 32 hours a week. PRN and per diem does not have a set schedule with PRN/ per diem. We would pair your availability with our coverage needs for PRN/ per diem status. We are looking to build a local per diem pool of experience inpatient physical therapists OR steady part time PTs. Our hospital is open year-long including most holidays.

Position Summary

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

We are unable to offer PTO or medical benefits if you are working less than 32 hours but we CAN discuss your participation in our local and virtual CEU accrediting courses once you are on board. FULL time is also available, please apply appropriately based on your interest.

Responsibilities

  • Understand appropriate state practice acts and adhere to the laws which govern how physical therapists may practice and whom physical therapists may supervise.
  • Complete and maintain all corporate & clinical services required training and maintain compliance with state/local/federal regulations.
  • Evaluate, treat, and direct treatment for patients for whom physical therapy is medically necessary and document this need clearly.
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, family members, and third-party payors at all times.
  • Attend and/or participate in facility meetings as directed by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited PT school
  • Valid State Physical Therapist License
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
