Job Description

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant

Location: NovaCare in Columbia, MD

Schedule: Full time 40 hour work week treating two evenings until 7PM

Our NovaCare Columbia Maryland outpatient orthopedic center is seeking a licensed physical therapist assistant (LPTA) to provide exceptional patient care to patients of all ages and abilities. Our highly trained and respected clinical team provides treatment services that maximize functionality and promote the best optimal outcomes for our patients. This is NovaCare's Centre Park Drive (CPD) location and one of our SPORTS CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE giving you a higher volume of sports medicine patients within our OP center complete with 25 yard turf field. additional specialty services include sports, concussion, industrial (POETs and FCEs), vestibular, fall prevention and dry needling on top of general ortho.

New graduate LPTAs WELCOME to apply, you must have your Maryland PTA license to begin. We have a large supportive clinical team able to offer mentorship for a recent graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
  • Possesses training and education which allows him/her to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment program.
  • Implements, with minimal supervision, high quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers and facilities in accordance with the principals and practices of physical therapy and with Select Medical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhances and expands client relations with facilities and their staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from an approved curriculum for Physical Therapist Assistants, and having passed a national examination for Physical Therapist Assistants certified by the CAPTE.
  • State license and/or certification must be valid in the state in which the individual will practice.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
