This position would involve some local travel between our Bridgeton and Lake St. Louis Hospitals

Wound Care Nurse (RN) - full time

Schedule - Weekend only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) 

12 hour shifts

Sign-on bonus up to $17,000 for FT RNs

An excellent opportunity is currently available for a nurse to assume a highly visible and specialized role as a Wound Care Nurse (RN). 

In this capacity, you will be responsible for providing superior care to medically complex patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Act as a nursing educator providing ongoing nursing education activities including nursing orientation, patient and family teaching and other nursing education initiatives under the direction of the Chief Nursing Offier.

  • Collaborates with Nursing, Quality, and Medical leadership on wound care initiatives, research questions, and outcome measures to support program innovation and excellence.
  • Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.
  • Analyzes patterns of wounds and identifies targeted QI activities to improve wound outcomes and mitigate pressure injury development.
  • Coordinates competency evaluation and testing for professional staff in collaboration with clinical departments.
  • Works in collaboration with Education department to assure coordination of all educational initiatives and activities to support the overall objectives and goals of the department                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       


Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid State RN License required
  • Previous hospital nursing experience required
  • WCC required
  • Certified BLS required 
  • Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required

Preferred Experience

  • Masters Degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • CWCN, CWOCN or CWS preferred or certification pending within 1 year
