Job Description

The Compensation Analyst will perform the full scope of activities associated with the design, development, implementation and administration of the Company's compensation programs. Prepare recommendations requiring a broad and thorough understanding of compensation techniques, methods, and practices as it relates to the companies salary administration.   Perform market analysis and guides the annual compensation process for assigned locations.  Advise and educate managers and Human Resource Business Partners on salary administration policies and procedures,   Performs audits for assigned locations and supports regulatory audits with information as requested.    The Compensation Analyst must maintain confidentiality, credibility and have excellent customer service skills necessary to build partnerships across the company.   Strong time management skills are required to manage multiple processes and implementation initiatives. 


  • Lead annual compensation planning and incentive cycle for assigned locations, ensuring adherence to the company’s performance management systems and philosophy.
  • Ensure compensation policies and procedures are compliant with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including proper FLSA classification of positions. Stay on top of regulatory changes and proposals to identify risks and areas of concern. Keep self and others informed of professional HR trends and developments.
  • Assist to design and implement creative solutions to various compensation-related issues.  Assist in development and documentation of compensation program guidelines and trainings for internal stake holders. Delivers compensation education for targeted internal stakeholders.
  • Provides analytical support and serves as an internal consultant for the resolution of salary and compensation issues.
  • Advises leaders on appropriate job classifications and compensation levels based on organizational needs and policies.
  • Proactively perform compensation audits for assigned locations, analyzing the internal pay practices and make recommendations on any necessary changes to actual employee pay or compensation structure.
  • Participate and complete compensation market surveys to ensure market competitiveness and determine market trends. 
  • Analyze market data and provide comprehensive internal and external equity analysis as needed.
  • Work with HRIS to ensure that all systems are updated according to compensation changes.
  • Works on special projects as assigned and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Must be able to work independently in the absence of the Director, Compensation Services.
  • With guidance from management or senior staff, uses job survey data to performance market analysis and guides the annual compensation process for assigned locations. 
  • Advises with regard to unusual situations which fall outside the guidelines. Researches and makes proposal in regards to salary range movement and for adherence to required approvals, guidelines and time frames. 
  • Works independently, and with support as needed providing consultative advice and applying established policies. The Compensation Analyst will have the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Human Resources or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Compensation experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Certified Compensation Professional preferred
  • The Compensation Analyst must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, possess good written, oral, and interpersonal skills. 
  • The Compensation Analyst must also apply judgment to assess and resolve sensitive issues as well as have the ability to work effectively in a challenging and changing environment.
  • The Compensation Analyst must be customer service focused and also have the ability to clearly communicate compensation policies, procedures, and decisions to influence and persuade others.
  • Strong time management skills are required to manage multiple processes and implementation initiatives. 
  • The Compensation Analyst must maintain credibility and build partnerships across the company.
