Job Description

The Team Lead is a liaison between the AP Team and the AP Supervisor.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills and assist with motivating a team environment.  The lead is responsible for training new hires and educating them on policies and procedures, accurately processing all third party vendor invoices and payments through the Select Medical accounts payable system, assisting in the control of payables cash outflow for this Corporation and ensuring invoices are paid according to policy.  


  • Maintain and process invoices, ensure accuracy of G/L coding, proper approvals, and confirm payment is outstanding.
  • Precise entry of all payables information into the Oracle Accounting system.
  • Perform weekly check run process including Special Requests within required deadlines and in accordance with SMC policy.
  • Maintain effective, open communication channels with the field and AP Representatives.
  • Research vendor inquiries and provide quality customer service.
  • Process all voids ensuring proper procedures are followed, making certain the voids are accounted for within the correct GL period.
  • Sustain concentration and attention to detail / accuracy, perform effectively when action is required, be resourceful and meet all requested deadlines.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor with integration of new companies into new companies into the Accounts Payable group.
  • Complete Q&A process in Markview on a daily basis.
  • Promote a positive workplace environment; keep team moral and motivation high.
  • Assist other A/P Representatives as necessary – be an effective team member.
  • Identify and recommend changes that will enhance or improve current processes.


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience working with a multiple subsidiary operating structure environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • PC knowledge – word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), and any type of accounting software (Great Plains, Oracle and Discoverer) experience is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, being detail oriented and resourceful are essential to succeeding in this position.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and possess a personal sense of urgency.
