Speech Therapist Resident
Catham, NJ
Part Time
Availbility: Mornings, Afternoons, and Evenings
Harmony Pediatric Therapy’s Speech Therapy residency program consists of a 90-day focus on expanding clinical skills, knowledge through continued education and competency in providing family-centered care, within our practice. Upon completion of the residency program, proficiency in providing comprehensive evaluations, discharge process, parent education and resource, home programming, inter-professional collaboration, case management and the provision of evidence-based clinical intervention from infancy through early adulthood, will be required for transition into full-time, staff occupational therapist.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Speech Therapist Resident:
- Observe daily treatment by senior therapist and learn administrative responsibilities such as chart revew, billing, and schedule review; Perform full day HIPAA training
- Observe daily treatment, case management, and efficient treatment planning and report writing by senior therapist.
- Begin co-treatment and professional documentation with senior therapist.
- Run treatment sessions under supervision of senior therapist. Identify and work through areas of challenges utilizing team members that have interests or specialties in these areas. Begin case management of an expanding caseload.
- Observe reassessments, parent consults, and treatment plans performed by senior therapist.
- Co-treat and initiate sections of reassessments, parent consults, treatment plans and professional writing
- Initiate individual reassessments, parent consults and treatment plans
- Inter-professional collaborations and referrals
- Trial writing proper report independently
- Present standardized sections during family meetings and build on case management
- Present standardized sections during family meetings and build on case management
- Trial independent caseload including treatment, assessments, reassessments, parent consults, treatment plans, and family meetings
- Mentorship continued at lesser frequency upon transition to staff occupational therapist.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses) |
1. Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology preferred. 2. Current and valid NJ state licensure or pending state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required. 3. Pediatric SLP experience preferred. 4. Flexible schedule including afternoon and evening availability |
