Experience the power of P&O! The NovaCare P&O team is currently seeking a Full Time or Part Time Certified Orthotist (CO) for our P&O Clinic in Kenosha, WI . This position will see mostly orthotic patients. Pediatric experience is a plus!

American Board Certified (ABC) certification in Orthotics or completion of Residency in Orthotics Program and board eligible to sit for exams is required to be considered for this opportunity.

Oversees all stages of design, fabrication, fitting and maintenance of orthotic/prosthetic devices related to patients’ needs, as indicated by a physician. Assists physicians with the evaluation and analysis of the patient’s need for orthotic/prosthetic services. Ensures proper patient management is consistent with established practices for orthotic/prosthetic care. Identifies and reconciles issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided. Ensures highest standards of patient care are provided to all patients, including but not limited to adequate follow-up with patients and physicians. Reviews new techniques and materials to ensure the widest range of flexibility and services offered. Maintains accurate documentation to clearly define goals, issues and solutions for each patient. Provides administrative staff with information to conduct reimbursement activities. Provides information to facility management to ensure proper management of inventory and materials. Meets with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to market orthotics/prosthetics services and capabilities. Provides on-call services, as necessary. Recommends treatment options to physicians, when necessary.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university from a recognized
Orthotics and Prosthetics school.
American Board Certified (ABC) certification in Orthotics Prosthetics required.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in providing orthotic services under the supervision
of a certified practitioner.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift.
Must have manual dexterity in hands in order to fabricate appliances. Must be able to lift casts up to 75 pounds.
Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including10-key) throughout a work day/shift.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
Ability to carry office supplies up to 10lbs.
Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written direction.
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
